Do you need a SYE and CV driveshaft? Well read below:

In this article we are going to focus on the Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ which range from years 1987-2006. We will address other models at a later date.

If you have a Jeep Wrangler YJ (87-95) or a Jeep TJ(97-06) then you have probably lifted it or at least have thought about it and the question comes up regularly. Do I need a SYE and new CV Driveshaft?
The Jeep's short wheel base is great for maneuverability, but
horrible on drive line angles when lifted. If you install a 4 inch or
taller lift kit the rear drive shaft is at a much greater angle than
it was designed for and can tolerate. To reduce the drive line angle you can install a
drop skid plate kit (transfer case drop), but in doing so you you lose ground clearance that we all are trying so hard to gain.

With the increased drive line angle from your lift you will start to get a vibration
in your Jeep as you accelerate or decelerate. This vibration can be
more then just annoying but critically damaging and reduce the life span
of your drive train components.

This can lead to worn or broken:
U-Joints
Drive Shaft
Pinion or transfer case yokes
Pinion seals leaking

So how does an SYE kit and CV drive shaft fix all of these problems?

The https://thejeephut.com/slip-yoke-eliminator-kits/ kit converts your slip style yoke to a

fixed yoke that is approximately 3 inches shorter. This means your
rear drive shaft will be that much longer, which reduces the angle of
the drive shaft. More importantly the SYE kit allows the use of a
Double Cardan driveshaft referred to often as a CV drive shaft. When
installed the rear pinion will be turned up to be in line with the
transfer case yoke and the drive line angle is now split between 2 u
joints instead of the stock singular joint.

In conclusion the SYE kit and CV driveshaft will eliminate drive line
vibration in your Jeep YJ or Jeep TJ! So do it right...the first time!
