Randy brought his Jeep Wrangler Rubicon down from Ashville, NC, for a rad overhaul. A Clayton Off-Road Jeep Wrangler 3.5 Inch Premium Lift Kit was chosen to lift the Rubicon. We chose this kit as all 8 of the adjustable control arms were included and the Premium kits feature a dual durometer Giiro Joint bushings and forged Johnny Joint adjusters. These narrow series forged Johnny Joint adjusters feature a greaseable and rebuildable 1 piece bushing capable of up to 40 degrees of misalignment. The Giiro joints are free pivoting, self-lubricating, self-centering, silent in operation and maintenance free bushings that make our kits ride like butter...no matter what's underneath your vehicle! Bilstein 5100 series shocks smooth out the ride.

A heavy duty tire carrier from Rusty's Off-Road provides the necessary strength to hold up to the heavier tire and wheel combination. Rusty's added a reinforcement plate inside the body to strengthen the hinge mounting area. The new Rusty’s 3/16” and 1/4” steel fabricated tire carrier and tailgate mount is mounted to the tailgate with a total of 16 bolts. They added 4 to the tailgate area to reinforce the area by the door handle. In the design process, they noticed flexing in the area around the rear door handle and their design eliminates this issue. The tailgate and the tire mount pivots in our 1/2-inch hinge on “Oilite” oil embedded bronze bearings.
We installed a JL/JT Front Track Bar and Sector Shaft Brace 18+ Wrangler/Gladiator from Synergy manufacturing. Synergy MFG's Jeep JL/JT Front Track Bar and Sector Shaft Brace is designed to better distribute the increased load the frame side track bar bracket encounters on a lifted Jeep and supports the steering box sector shaft from excessive deflection.
