The install \"DOES NOT REQUIRE\" the tank to be removed. The Rusty's skid offers so much more protection than many of the other skids, most making a minor bend at the bottom, the Rusty's skid extends up 4 to 6 inches up the side of the tank. This gives you added protection if a rock wedges up between the driveshaft and skid and if a driveshaft should ever be broke it would protect it from hitting the fuel tank.
