From Busy City Streets to Mountain Trails

From the dealer lot this Jeep Sahara Altitude was blacked out and super slick. While that may satisfy the average new car buyer it most definitely does not to a Jeep owner. Brian wasted no time and neither did we. First up we ordered a Metal Cloak 3.5-inch dual rate lift kit with rock sport shocks. This is the perfect kit so you can enjoy your Jeep with a lift now, with opportunity to build on for the future.

Features include:

  • Duroflex joints enhanced with Kevlar.
  • True dual rate coils.
  • Durotrak equipped front trackbar.
  • Specifically tuned rock sport shocks for true dual rate coils.
  • Height adjustable bump stops.

Tires are always top of the list when building a Jeep and Brian chose a set of 37-inch Patagonia M/T’s. Designed to be at home rock crawling, mud bogging, or a casual drive through mountain trails, the Patagonia M/T has all the attributes to overcome any terrain. The high-void tread design is engineered to provide aggressive biting edges while promoting self-cleaning.

Motiv Off Road Mutant 20 by 10 wheels were used for their blacked out spoke design. With a negative 25 offset these wheels help widen the stance of the Jeep. With the extra weight of the larger tire and wheel combo a new heavy duty tire carrier was needed. The decision was to use the new Smittybilt JL HD Pivot Tire carrier as it will carry up to a 40-inch tires without the tailgate sagging or buckling. It is customizable as it can mount the tire vertically or in a slant back position. The easy-to-use single action opening and closing of the tailgate works without rattles or vibrations.
